Get the low down on what you need to know when coming to hit the slopes at Dorset Snow Sport Centre
1. Whats the dress code?
When you come to ski or board it is essential that you wear the appropriate clothing. Sallopettes are ideal but for those who dont have them waterproof or jogging bottom style trousers are reccommended. It is important to wear long sleeved tops and gloves as the surface is made of plastic fibres which can cause friction burns. Gloves can be hired or bought from the ski lodge at the bottom of the slope. Please DO NOT wear denim as it affects the quality of the slopes.
2. Can I hire equipment at the centre?
We have a ski lodge at the bottom of the slopes with a hire shop offering a full range of equipment including snowboards, ski's and poles, trick ski's, gloves etc. This can be hired at set rates by the hour, so it will be cheaper to bring your own equipment but we do not accept any reponsibility for loss or damage of this at the centre.
3. I have never done this before?
Thats fine, we simply insist that before you get onto the main slope you take an hours tuition with one of our qualified instructors. Once they feel you are competent you can head to the first exit on the big slope to help you build your confidence and skills level without risking the safety of yourself and those around you.
